Mall or high street?: Cornering the retail boom
â€œInside a mall, it is difficult to find a customer who is interested in making an instant purchase. The high street shopper has made up his mind even before he has stepped in.â€ Also, most mall-owners (developers without a retail experience to be precise) donâ€™t attract the right consumers as they donâ€™t have the right tenant mix. As a result, his mall stores depend on the mall for business, while the high street stores work independently. They are not dependent on others to manage the show, away from problems of timings, maintenance and housekeeping.
