Use of OER in Skill Development in India
NIESBUD, in partnership with Progia, brings to you India’s 1st hands-on workshop on using Open Educational Resources (OER) for creating Skill Development Courses.
The Government of India has adopted skill development as a national priority and has set a target of skilling 500 million people by 2022. The objective is to ensure India’s competitiveness in the global market by empowering all individuals through improved skills, knowledge, nationally and internationally recognized qualifications to gain access to decent employment.
NIESBUD, an apex body established by Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Government of India, helps the stakeholders in developing strategy, facilitating implementation and enabling action on the ground. In order to sustain and extend its leadership role in the changing landscape of education, NIESBUD is using advances in technology and OER to offer online training to meet and exceed the demands of workforce in the coming years.
