The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, is the southernmost island country in the Caribbean region. The relationship between India and Trinidad & Tobago is very old and cordial. Nearly 42% of the total population is of Indian origin and constitute an integral part of the economic, political and social fabric of the country. The presence of a substantial population of Indian origin (the largest ethnic group) has contributed immensely to close bilateral relations between the two countries. India’s exports to T&T grew from USD 83.75 Million in the year 2018-19 to USD 85.11 Million in the year 2019-20. India’s major exports to T& T includes pharmaceutical products, vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock and parts and accessories thereof, iron and steel, plastic and articles thereof, edible fruit and nuts, articles of apparel and clothing accessories, not knitted or crocheted etc. T&T provides good opportunities to exporters from India to access the Caribbean region and beyond.
