Overseas Listing: The Big Opportunity for Indian companies

In May 2020, the Government of India announced measures to help companies raise funds, including allowing Indian companies to directly list in overseas markets.

This can be a massive game changer and once necessary changes are made to the current regulatory framework, will definitely improve the competitiveness of Indian companies in terms of access to diversified and cost efficient pools of capital, bigger investor base and better valuations. It is also expected that a mandatory requirement to have such securities listed on the Indian stock exchange/s will be done away with.
