Covaxin 100% effective on serious Covid-19 cases

In the phase-3 clinical trials, Covaxin, a COVID-19 vaccination, has shown 100% efficacy in severe COVID-19 cases, said Bharat Biotech International (BBIL) and Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) in a joint statement. The overall interim clinical efficacy has been 78% in the second interim analysis of phase 3 trails.
“The tireless efforts of our scientists at ICMR and BBIL have resulted in a truly effective international vaccine of the highest standards and efficacy,” said Prof Balram Bhargava, director-general at ICMR and secretary at Department of Health Research.
