Google collecting data from rival apps to improve its products

Google has been keeping tabs on rival Android apps' usage using its 'Android Lockbox' programme to develop or better its products, The Information reported.
The report says that Google has also analysed usage data gathered from email apps that compete with Gmail, as well as from Instagram and Facebook.
