India's services sector posts growth after seven months

India’s services sector posted an expansion in October for the first time since February as malls and restaurants resumed business post lifting of mobility restrictions.
The purchasing managers' index (PMI) for services rose to 54.1 in October from 49.8 in September, according to data analytics firm IHS Markit.
This along with positive signals from other lead indicators prompted the finance ministry to claim that economic growth could touch pre-coronavirus levels by year end.
