Technology imports increasing manufacturing exports

Technologies are imported by manufacturers either as physical goods such as machinery or in the form of the right to use them, such as licenses or royalties.
A 1% increase in spending on imports of “embodied" technology—the one sold in the physical form—is found to increase manufacturing exports by 0.6%.
